After being raised in a smalltown in the heart of the American west,
Evan Cowden attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music
on Scholarship awarded to him for excellence in vocal performance.
There he studied his craft along side artists such as Layla Hathaway
and Grammy Award Winner Paula Cole.
Strongly influenced by the post-modern/new-wave movements of the early
1980's, and inspired by vocalists such as Jimmy Somerville, Lisa Stansfield,
Alison Moyet,Tracey Thorn (everything but the girl), and Andrew Bell; Evan Cowden
has succeeded in drawing from heavy synth pop arrangements like those
of Vince Clarke and the Pet Shop Boys, blending them with contemporary
house and R&B flavor, thus creating a style all his own...Unique, Distinctive,
Vocal electronica with a strong pop-crossover appeal.
